extraversion or introversion?

lately, for the first time in my life, i've wondered if i'm possibly an introvert.

i've always thought of myself as an extrovert because i love to talk. i've got a wide spectrum of friends (some nice, some not that nice, but somehow are still friends of mine), and i maintain contact with them pretty well, such that whenever we meet up, we have something to chat about. i love going out too, my family says i get cabin fever if i'm in too much (i attribute that to my doggie traits). i'm not really out of the clubbing phase yet, and while i don't enjoy drinking that much (i don't handle alcohol well), i like to hold a coke and pretend i'm having rum&coke instead.

then why do i think i may be an introvert? i enjoy meeting new people, but i must say that i'm not the overly 'hey-let-me-introduce-myself' kind. i think i'm usually more comfortable being approached (i don't like approaching people), though once i'm in conversation with someone (interesting, that is), i'm quite happy getting to know that person(s). and while i enjoy being in the center of attention, i don't consider myself to be the life of any party. i'm much the follower, not usually the instigator.

so i did a search, and by this questionaire i think i'm 70% extroverted, almost at mid-ground. at least that rating exists.

san francisco street fairs

i never knew that sf was a great place to be during the summer too!!

love parade where it's practically a dance fest on the streets. different floats parade by and you just dance to the music of the floats!

pride parade - i think this is a do once seen it thing. almost like halloween on castro street.

sf pillow fight! (apparently all these random people show up in this one place at this one day, bringing pillows, then at a specific time, everybody starts hitting everyone with their pillows.
how awesome!!

then of course there's the jazz festival, cheese festival, halloween (done this 3 times, i don't think i'm going back since it's absolute craziness on the streets), opera in the park, shakespeare in the park, etc. etc....tons tons!!

white river rafting

or should i say, tons of pedaling and rock climbing?

my coworkers and i took a (partially subsidised) trip to the south fork american river for some white river rafting!! we didn't hire a guide to save money (which left me a little dubious at first, some of us thought there may be a possibility of dying), but i must say, our two 'unofficial' guides turned out to be quite good at guiding us down the river.

unfortunately we started too late (not our fault, we had to wait for the other raft to show up), so the water levels were getting really low. nevertheless, we still wanted to raft, so we set off. a 1 1/2 hour raft turned out to be 4 hours instead, tons of navigating through rocks (where the guides proceeded to unload the raft and have us walk by the shore (i.e. rock climbing), and tons of pedaling since the river no longer carried us downstream, but many times the wind blew us upstream instead. and of course, i had to fall out of the raft as well. and oh yeah. someone accidentally loosened the air valve on our raft so it started leaking and it almost became a swimming pool.

i am completely sore, sunburnt, and my legs are all banged up, but we still had a great time :)

austin # what? :)

so it was a time to visit austin again. (i really love this place). this time my mom and sister visited, so we had a week full of eating (mostly meat) and getting sunburnt.

things we did:

hiking. grace hijacked my camera and had a 'tale of the shoes' storyline. or what seems to be it. she could not stop taking pictures of her shoes.

i thought this picture was cool. it seemed as if we were walking into the sky.

you cannot BELIEVE how many shots it took to get this one. the takes were extremely hilarious, of course, i couldn't post all of them here.

the 3 of us being ridiculously silly. we have another picture of us leaning towards the left.

and of course we went boating. grace took a lot of pictures of ducks, which i shall not post.
i shall use this as evidence that i *was* indeed in the water.

my two dorky sisters on the riverwalk in san antonio. the boat tour was quite cool!

we hit fogo de chao...
and of course, rudy's *grin*

and we tried this new place - flip happy crepes. really REALLY good crepes.
so if any of you are headed to austin, lemme know, cuz i can point you to all the awesome places to eat and go!
