looking back

i'm digging through all my things, as i'm moving apartments pretty soon (i will have a new address!), throwing out stuff i can see myself living without, and keeping the forget-me-nots that i *must* keep for memories sake. and guess what i ran into? my old autograph book.



ahahah. :) we were so creative!! it's lived since the form 5 days and it truly is amazing to look back and see what hopes and dreams we wrote about. some came true, and some didn't. if i haven't said this enough, i think i'm truly blessed to have the friends i have today - all those days in cempaka and presby (it didn't live through college/uni, after all, we now have facebook) are somewhat captured in this precious book.

in some ways, we said our goodbyes thinking we'd part ways. we left our phone numbers (err, they've changed), addresses (even those have changed), birthdays - anything to remind each other of what we had together and how to keep in contact. but look at us today - 12 years later, we're still very much part of each others lives even though we live in different continents! :)

and i know i've already posted this, but i love love love this picture, and it shall be remembered.

sigh - we were going to have dumplings to celebrate (the most americanized kind, i'm afraid) but didn't even... just had bagels with monterey jack cheese and lots of bacon instead. haha!

talk about really late

okay. it took a YEAR for the state of Illinois to give me my tax refund. a grand total of 34 bucks.

yup the mountains again!

i think kirkwood is my favorite ski resort in tahoe. we took a bus up for a day trip - totally worth it even though we had to wake up at 3.30AM.

(all nicely bundled up, it's miraculous how much more you enjoy snowboarding when you're dressed warmly enough! - another tip from mei)

christmas hols

it's definitely time to put up pictures/stories on christmas. (i always debate about whether to put up pics on FB or my blog - what a ridiculous dilemma to be in). i've practically been on vacation the entire month of december so it's pretty hard to get back to the swing of things. not to mention, i'm a little bored with my project right now. :p

so! my family came over for the last 2 weeks of december. it was really good to be able to see my parents for almost the entire month, and family from florida flew over too. 23 of us for christmas eve dinner!

my sister and i serving during dinner. rachel worked the lamb (she cooked it from scratch), and i handed out the ham (bought pre-cooked and pre-sliced). ham, lamb, jambalaya(!!!), chicken, sweet mashed potatos, kua (ohhhh i love the kua!), some brocolli dish, soup, lu dan (herbal tea egg), meatballs, pecan pies (courtesy of grace), brownies and a walnut banana cake.

on boxing day, we went snowboarding at tahoe!! :) did i mention i love snowboarding? I LOVE LOVE SNOWBOARDING!! (and i think i got my sisters to loved it too) :)

also went tubing (looks like the tube is made of gold)

and sledding. GEEZ look closely, it seems like grace is FLYING down this ridiculously steep mountain.

i miss my family :(

but i found out that my new patent leather wallet CAN be scratched (*duh*). :( i'll have to take really good care of it....
