do we always want more?
got a chance to catch up with a friend whom i haven't seen in a while. he gave me the latest updates about his whereabouts, what he's been up to, just life in general. then we talked about family, responsibilities, things that tie us down, opportunities that escape us and make our dreams seem even farther away.
"i wish i had your life" he tells me.
taken aback, i realize that we will always want someone else's life. compared to someone else, our troubles seem overwhelming. compared to someone else, our family seems dysfunctional. compared to someone else, our lives just suck and definitely could be better.
i've been in that boat before. envious of a then-boyfriend's life, i watched as he went home whenever he wanted. had no debts, is a smart kid, and seemed to be pursuing life exactly how he wanted. didn't help that i wanted his life.
i've learnt to be happy where i am. to be contented yet motivated. satisfied yet driven. but i still do lapse into moments. moments when the grass seems greener on the other side. it's hard not to want more.

i do so want your life. you're alot closer to buying an m3 than me. :P not to mention I didnt grad from Berkeley.. AND have big bosoms. *grr

The damn grass is ALWAYS greener and the sky is ALWAYS bluer on the other side... Which is a real shame, coz all it does is make you spend money and do crazy things to get whatever it is you want. For example... I'd always gone thousands of miles away to Europe for a holiday, when I've never even been to THAILAND! and now that I'm moving away from S.E.A. I suddenly have a craving to backpacking around Vietnam... Go figure... :p
HAVE FUN in vietnam!!! you'll have SO much fun there....wish i could go as well!!!
