should we be suspicious?

as i'm sitting in my car waiting for apurva (i don't think we're fated to meet up for lunch, we've ended up in separate locations - TWICE), two girls approach me to ask if i would like some free perfume samples.

warning bells went off in my head - i had read something similar (you know those spam mails you get in hotmail) where they warn you of people trying to give out free perfume samples in a parking lot, and the 'samples' are actually chloroform. after you lapse unconscious, they steal your car.

so i smiled and said 'no', and wearily observed them as they approached another car to a more receptive (ignorant) person who sniffed like crazy.

i just glanced up, and the dude in that car is still alive. so maybe i'm wrong. or just overly cautious...

Well you really can't be too careful. AS long as caution doesn't develop into full blown paranoia hahahahaha! I'm a hawk when I drive in KL now, even in the daytime, checking my mirror every second, to see if anything suspicious is going on. Heard stories of ppl 'accidently bumping' into cars of female drivers from behind while driving, then kidnapping them when they stop to assess the damage. :S

yeah i've heard of stories as such too. i think it's more prevalent in asia than it is here, though it wouldn't hurt to be cautious still.
