our GPS

the pastor today gave an interesting analogy about our paths in life.

we have a god-given GPS within ourselves. we choose our final destinations, and god will point out the directions along the way. with GPS, you key in which location you'd like to be at, and the system will tell you how to get there. at the point of time that you need to turn, the system will tell you to turn. that's how god works. he'll tell you where to go when you're ready. you just have to trust.

the comforting about it is that you are allowed to make mistakes. if you're too distracted listening to music, or talking on your cell, and you happen to miss a turn, the GPS will recalculate the directions and tell you where to go next. if you get lost, or get distracted along the way, god's still there to point out where to go next if you'd listen.

interestingly i've had a GPS that gave up on me before. i took too many wrong turns, and eventually the lady says 'find your own way back to the pink line'. sheesh.
