happy chinese new year!!
happy new year of the doggie!!!
the chinese like to have everything new to usher in a new year. that means new clothes, new shoes, new pjs, new bedsheets. but it also means having a clean house, scrubbing to prepare for the new year. my whole family's just spent the entire day vacumming, mopping, dishes, cooking, cleaning mirrors, laundry (we stop short of cleaning the chandeliers thank goodness, that has always brought cleaning to a whole new level).
tomorrow's the first day of the year of the dog. :) it'll be full of visiting relatives, friends, red packets flying around, lion dances, fireworks, gambling. i've almost forgotten how fun it is to celebrate chinese new year at home.
for those who don't know, red packets are these magical things with money inside:
